Artist murdered at $2m home on millionaires' island 'by son, 45,' during bloodbath that saw her younger disabled son and second woman killed at nearby $1m house

An artist was murdered by her son at her $2 million home on a glitzy island during a bloodbath that also saw her younger disabled son and a second woman killed, it was claimed.
Danielle Cuvillier, 80, and her son Mackenzie P. Williams, 45, were found with gunshot wounds at a home on Mercer Island, close to Seattle, around 10.45am Tuesday.
Detectives said the 'incident appears to be a homicide followed by a suicide', with Cuvillier the victim and Williams believed to be the shooter.
Two more people, a man in his mid-30s and a woman in her mid-40s were found at another home 14 miles away later on Tuesday, and police said the deaths are linked.
A lawyer for the family told KIRO the second dead man was Nick Williams, Cuvillier's mentally-disabled son and Mackenzie Williams's younger brother. The second dead woman has not been named.
'Danielle’s friends and family are in a state of shock, grief and utter disbelief at the news of her and her loving son Nick’s deaths,' a statement issued by the lawyer said.
'We need time and space to mourn appropriately and will release a full statement when we have had time to process this devastating sequence of events.”
Cuvillier was a well-liked artist in her seventies who sold her pieces to a local wine bar on the ritzy island, which sits on Lake Washington and is one of the United States 100 richest zip codes.
Barrels Wine Bar praised the 'beauty of her work' in a Facebook post shared in November 2022, while a local vendor who spoke with the Daily Mail remembered her as 'easygoing'.
Officers were sent to her ritzy Washington state home on SE 46th Street to conduct a welfare check after an attorney representing Cuvillier 'reported receiving a concerning email that raised fears for the occupants' safety' the night before.

As part of the investigation, Mercer Island Police recommended a welfare check on another home belonging to somebody who used to live in Cuvillier's property.
Issaquah Police Department found two more bodies at a $1 million residence on SE Evans Lane - a woman in her mid-40s and a man in his mid-30s, later identified as Nick.
Police said there was no wider threat to the community.
Local taco vendor Nico Morales said that Danielle had two sons and that Nick ate at his truck every day.
