At least 40 killed and 119 injured in Crans-Montana fire caused by 'sparklers', Swiss officials say

Swiss officials told a press conference on Friday that the deadly fire at a Crans-Montana ski resort bar on New Year’s Eve, which killed at least 40 people, was likely caused by sparkling flares atop Champagne bottles that came too close to the ceiling. Authorities said 113 of the 119 injured have been identified, including 14 French and 11 Italians.
