Several days after Hamas' October 7 attack on the Gaza border communities, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that Operation Guardian of the Walls 2 was already underway. He warned against a possible uprising by Israel's Arab citizens who would exploit the opportunity to open a domestic front against Israel and its traumatized Jewish citizens.
