Bystanders fight off alleged Melbourne carjacker
Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to steal a woman's car in Richmond earlier this year but was foiled by bystanders, including one person wielding a golf club.

Victoria Police said a man approached a woman in Swan Street near Richmond Railway Station about 4:50pm and tried to steal her Mercedes sedan.
Bystanders intervened, including one person who appeared to be armed with a golf club, and forced the man to get out of the vehicle.

The alleged offender fled on foot and got into a waiting Nissan Navara with the registration 1OL9CF, which was last seen travelling southbound on Cremorne Street.
The owner of the Mercedes was not hurt, but one of the bystanders who intervened appeared to sustain a facial injury.

Police have released CCTV footage and images of a man they would like to speak to.
He is perceived to be of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his mid to late 20s and about 183 centimetres tall, with a solid build.

He was wearing a black puffer jacket, black track pants and white runners.
