Close call: Plane with 55 onboard skids off runway in Nepal; video shows damaged aircraft
A Buddha Air aircraft overshot the runway while landing at Nepal's Bhadrapur Airport on Friday night, with all 51 passengers and four crew members escaping uninjured. The plane skidded off the airstrip by nearly 200 meters, coming to a halt in a grassy area with minor damage. A technical team has been dispatched to assess the aircraft.

A Buddha Air aircraft overshot the runway while landing at Nepal’s Bhadrapur Airport on Friday night, but all passengers and crew escaped without injury, officials told PTI.
Flight 901, carrying 51 passengers and four crew members, had departed Kathmandu at 8:23 pm and was attempting to land at Bhadrapur at around 9:08 pm when it skidded off the runway.
According to airport officials, the aircraft overran the airstrip by nearly 200 metres and came to a halt in a grassy area near a rivulet, sustaining minor damage.Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Rinji Sherpa said all those on board were safely evacuated shortly after the incident. Jhapa Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal also confirmed that no injuries were reported.The aircraft was piloted by Sailesh Limbu and was the final flight on the Kathmandu–Bhadrapur sector for the day, as per the Kathmandu post. Buddha Air said it has dispatched a technical team from Kathmandu to assess the aircraft, which was scheduled to remain overnight at the airport before returning to the capital on the first flight the following morning.
