For so long, life in Gaza has been reduced to matters of necessity. Survival depends on daily calculations: When will there be electricity? When will there be running water? How far is it safe to walk, and what can be carried if another evacuation order comes? Beauty, in this reality, is often assumed to be irrelevant.
