On the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, pops of bold color and ethereal florals stood out amid a sea of gowns and tuxes in black or white.
Chief among the myriad thoughts that arose during the Golden Globes red carpet: Pantone must be thrilled. Stars wearing a plethora of white gowns and suits arrived at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday night for the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards, roughly five weeks after Pantone anointed Cloud Dancer, described by the brand as “a soft, ethereal white,” as the color of 2026.
White of course also symbolizes purity and new beginnings and is closely associated with what suffragettes famously wore in the early 1900s while fighting to secure women’s right to vote. If the omnipresence of white gowns and suitings at the Golden Globe Awards inspired thoughts of that seminal action, there’s no arguing that.
Amid a bounty of designer looks in white or black, pops of brilliant color stood out beautifully, including Rose Byrne in emerald green Chanel and Laufey in a custom Balenciaga gown in orange jersey. Another trend of the night against the stark and structured black or white gowns was a group of looks that felt wholly breezy and ethereal, from Jennifer Lopez in a 2003 Jean-Louis Cherrer haute-couture gown, secured from Lily et Cie in Beverly Hills, or Justine Lupe’s powder pink crinoline gown by Giorgio Armani Privé.
Among the men, double-breasted jackets ruled the night — which also made Golden Globe winner Owen Cooper’s mushroom-hued blouson jacket and trousers by Bottega Veneta another of the night’s standout looks.

Colman Domingo loves to mix things up and considers how to elevate the details; that was once again evident at the Golden Globe Awards, when instead of the single brooch that’s now become de rigueur among stylish men on red carpets, the actor opted for a grouping of diamond leaves by Boucheron that splashed down one side of his Valentino tux jacket. “It’s like ivy in a garden,” he explained on the red carpet. Domingo accessorized the look with Valentino shoes and an Omega timepiece.
Bias-cut slip dresses also trended at the 2026 Golden Globe awards, but none was quite so beautifully cut and precise as the sleek design in deep green worn by Kirsten Dunst, from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann. Dunst completed her look with Kwiat diamond jewels and Gianvito Rossi shoes.

Roundly agreed to be among the night’s most artful looks, One Battle After Another star and Golden Globe nominee Chase Infiniti exuded modern elegance in this custom look by Louis Vuitton, which consisted of a silver metallic hand-embroidered bustier paired with a long velvet skirt. The actress finished her look with De Beers diamond jewels and Brandon Blackwood shoes.

On the red carpet, the glamorous look sported by The Bear star and perennial Golden Globe nominee Ayo Edebiri drew comparisons to Dorothy Dandridge. Edebiri noted that she fell in love with her velvet Chanel off-the-shoulder gown, embellished with pearl and resin brooches at the shoulders, when she saw it during Matthiew Blazy’s debut collection for the French house in October. “I immediately thought, that’s the one,” she said on the carpet. The actress completed her look with Tiffany & Co. jewels.
Patrick Schwarzenegger in Dolce & Gabbana

Among the multitude of double-breasted tuxedos at the Golden Globe Awards, The White Lotus‘ Patrick Schwarzenegger wore one of the best, thanks to a small but key detail: the nipped-in waist, which immediately put style fans in mind of a 1930s cut that adds just a splash of glamour to the silhouette. The look by Dolce & Gabbana also features wide satin lapels and wide-leg trousers. The brooch that finished the look is also by Dolce & Gabbana.

Speaking of 1930s drama, Song Sung Blue star and Golden Globe nominee Kate Hudson brought the shine in a bias-cut gown that was a custom design by Giorgio Armani Privé and was crafted to highlight a mix of crystal and silk fringe in gunmetal, with rhinestones embellishing the diamond halter neckline. Hudson finished the look with Garatti diamond jewels.
Teyana Taylor in Schiaparelli

Dramatic, elegant and daring — that’s Schiaparelli in a nutshell, but it also could describe One Battle After Another‘s Teyana Taylor, a Golden Globe winner Sunday night for best supporting actress in a movie. By Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli, the gown highlighted draped elegance in the front, while the back revealed the surprise of the crystal-embellished bow with tassels. Taylor accessorized her gown with a variety of jewels by Tiffany & Co., including mid-century archive earrings set with colored diamonds.

A Prada ambassador, F1 star Damson Idris looked throughly dapper in a three-piece black tuxedo paired with the surprise of a poplin shirt in mint. In addition to his black Prada lace-up shoes, Idris also wore jewelry from the his own line, dubbed Didris, which he debuted in spring 2025.

Hot couples abounded at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, but none was quite as stylish as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, who each exuded tailored modernity in a unique way. Krasinski paired his velvet Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with a black wool turtleneck and Bruno Magli shoes, while Blunt’s sleek white crepe sleeveless gown was beautifully finished with a one-shoulder short cape accented with silver jewelry buttons. The actress completed her look with diamond jewels by Tiffany & Co. and Christian Louboutin shoes.
Elle Fanning in Gucci

On the red carpet, Elle Fanning said she fell in love with her Gucci gown not only because it was beautiful, but upon closer inspection, she discovered that the tiny flowers embroidered on the gown represented a Norwegian flower, which seemed like kismet for the actress, who co-stars in the Norway-set nominated film Sentimental Value. Fanning finished her look with Cartier diamond jewels.
Janelle James in LaQuan Smith

Elegant yet sexy, sheer yet covered up: That’s what Abbott Elementary co-star Janelle James wanted for her Golden Globes gown, which also carried one more requirement: “I wanted to wear a gown by a Black designer,” she said on the carpet. She achieved everything she was seeking, wearing this orange chiffon gown with a high-neck sheer overlay by LaQuan Smith. Jewels by Alexis Bittar and Shay Jewelry completed her look.
Brittany Snow in Danielle Frankel

The Beast in Me co-star Brittany Snow was an early arrival on the Golden Globes red carpet, establishing the white trend of the night within the first half-hour. Her sleek strapless gown in a pearl-hued silk wool twill featured trapunto stitching around the wide hem. She accessorized her gown with diamond earrings and a diamond ring by Effy Jewelry.
Zoey Deutch in Prada

Nouvelle Vague star Zoey Deutch wore a Prada gown that was teeming with graceful modernity and Art Deco elements in equal measure. Crafted in white silk georgette, the gown featured a deep teardrop neckline that led to a crystal-embroidered peplum embellished with glass fringe details. In addition to satin platform sandals also by Prada, Deutch completed the look with Boucheron diamond jewels.
Jennifer Lawrence in Givenchy

If the night offered any style surprises, it was the sheer look worn by Jennifer Lawrence and designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy. The custom look consisted of a slashed tulle gown embellished allover with floral embroidery, paired with an embroidered bomber jacket in powder pink, which the Die My Love star removed upon arriving on the carpet. Her pink platform sandals and floral-embellished clutch also were by Givenchy, while her necklace was a custom design by Swarovski Created Diamonds.
