This is the heart-stopping moment a brave police officer rushed to save a distraught woman who attempted to leap off a bridge the day after Christmas.
Video footage captured by the cop's body camera showed the moment a woman in her 30s considered jumping off a bridge in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
The woman, who had been on I-81 south, was seen standing at the 60-mile marker bridge overlooking the Holston River, just after 11am.
State trooper Jacob Tizzard responded to the call and is shown in the video lunging toward the woman and grabbing her around the abdomen, while a fellow officer held onto him as an anchor, allowing them to pull her to safety.
The video then cuts to first responders standing near the ambulance while speaking to an unidentified person, suggesting the woman was safely inside the vehicle.
Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) said the woman was 'in a dark place' and 'because people showed up and worked together, she is alive tonight.'
Multiple units helped with the rescue mission, including a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agent who was positioned in a boat directly below the bridge where the woman stood.
'Different agencies, one mission. Save a life. And they did,' THP wrote in a Facebook post.

Four good Samaritans also called to report the possible suicide attempt, per Knoxville News.
One bystander was a preacher, and he pulled over toward the end of the bridge to pray.
Another bystander, a female retired U.S. Marine, also stopped and offered help to the distressed woman.
