All the ways to watch 5th Ashes Test live streams for FREE from anywhere, as Australia and England face off in the series finale at Sydney Cricket Ground.
5th Test: January 4-8, daily start times: 11:30pm GMT (day before) / 10:30am AEDT / 6:30pm ET (day before)
It seems that the tourists have finally acclimatised. Another shambolic display from the top order aside, England produced their most convincing display of the series so far, with Joe Root and Harry Brook combining for 154 – the team's best partnership of the tour. They were at 211-3 before rain and bad light stopped play, with Australia's decision to field no spinners looking a really poor one.
Ominously, three days is all it took to wrap up the Test between Australia and India at the SCG 12 months ago. Any hopes for a last stand fit for the occasion and, therefore, at odds with everything we've seen to this point, stem from England's record in the Harbour City.
They've won 22 Tests at the SCG – more than they've won at the WACA, Gabba and Adelaide Oval combined – making it their happiest hunting ground on Australian soil. That said, the last of those victories came back in 2011, and the tourists have won two of their last 10 at the ground.
Since only one wicket fell to spin in the aforementioned India Test, it seems that that's that for any shot of a late twist in fortune for the magicians. With Nathan Lyon sidelined by a hamstring injury and Shoaib Bashir out of favour, it falls on Will Jacks to deliver against steep odds.
