A timber flooring and furniture factory has been engulfed in a massive fire, triggering a large response from police and firefighters.
The industrial fire on Beresford Avenue at Greenacre, in the city's southwest, was reported about 3pm on Tuesday.
Authorities warned the blaze is likely to continue for 'a considerable amount of time'.
Fire and Rescue NSW said 50 firefighters were battling the fire, which is 'well alight'.
Their main objective is to keep the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.
NSW Police have created an exclusion zone around the factory and urged people to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Paramedics are also at the scene but there are no reports of injuries at this stage.
