Videos verified by the Observers team show Iranian security forces attacking a hospital in Ilam, Iran, on the night of 3-4 January. The footage shows security forces firing shotguns and tear gas as they attempt to detain injured protesters. Earlier in the day, security forces opened fire on a protest in the nearby town of Arkavaz. The protests began in December 2025, driven by Iran’s economic crisis, and have spread nationwide.
