Israel launches widescale enforcement operation in southern Bedouin village targeted by police

A senior police officer told Haaretz that the deterrence operation in southern Israel's Tarabin was meant to 'strengthen governability and to create friction with the population,' adding that 'the goal is primarily to be seen there and create deterrence among the criminals'

Representatives of government agencies and state-owned corporations, including the tax authority and the electric company, launched an enforcement campaign Thursday in the Negev Bedouin village of Tarabin under police escort, following orders from National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Police Commissioner Danny Levy.
