Jim Hopper delivers a hype-up speech for the ages ahead of a final showdown for the fate of the world in the new trailer for the last episode of Stranger Things.
The bulk of the clip centers around a speech that the Hawkins chief of police (played by David Harbour) gives to Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven as they prepare to stop Vecna from merging the real world with the Upside Down. Hopper tells Eleven he needs her to “fight one last time,” before adding: “Life has been so unfair to you. Your childhood was taken from you. You’ve been attacked, manipulated by terrible people. But you never let it break you.”
Hopper’s speech is accompanied by an intense montage teasing what’s to come, including a shot of Vecna’s hand emerging from the body of Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower). “Fight for the days on the other side of this,” Hopper tells Eleven. “Fight for a world beyond Hawkins. Let’s end this, kid.”
The Stranger Things finale is set to premiere tomorrow, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Netflix. With a runtime of just over two hours, the finale will also get a special release in select movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
