July’s New CaseSafe Suitcase Has Integrated Tracking
July's CaseSafe is a smart suitcase with an integrated, TSA-approved tracking lock designed to help travelers locate lost luggage worldwide.
Australian travel brand July introduces CaseSafe, a smart suitcase designed to make lost luggage far less stressful thanks to built-in tracking technology. For anyone who has stood at a baggage claim carousel watching everyone else retrieve their bags and leave the airport, the anxiety is familiar. What follows is often a long line at an overwhelmed service desk to file a claim, with weeks sometimes passing before suitcases – along with clothing and valuables – are returned. Compensation, when offered, is often minimal.
While new technologies have allowed airlines to be more efficient and lose less bags, it’s estimated that 33 million bags are still lost across the globe every year. As evident in how rushed everyone tends to be to get on the plane and how status often affords early access, more and more people have opted to carry on rather than risk checking a bag.
July’s CaseStudy is set to make checking bags a lot more secure and provide travelers with better peace of mind. How: with an integrated tracking system enabled by Apple and Google apps, the design – available in four sizes – can always be located, whether it’s sitting in the cargo hold of an aircraft, on its way through a baggage handling system to its owner, or traveling across the globe.
While external app-connected tags have been around for a few years, they’ve mostly been inefficient. What July is offering as an alternative is a trackable, battery-operated, TSA-approved lock that’s fully integrated into the suitcase itself. CaseSafe is compatible with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub networks.
“Find Hub is a unique experience for Android users, powered by our open ecosystem and a crowdsourced network of over a billion devices to help locate lost or misplaced items anywhere,” says Erik Kay, Vice President of Engineering, Google. “We’re proud to work with July to help make finding your luggage simple and seamless on Android.”
Produced in a German-engineered aerospace-grade polycarbonate shell, CaseSafe is available in carry-on, checked, checked plus, and family set variants. It comes in the brand’s signature colorways – moss, navy, blush pink, charcoal, and dark brown – and is fitted with July’s proprietary SilentMove 360° spinner double wheels, calibrated for even the roughest surfaces like cobblestone.
“With CaseSafe, we’ve reimagined smart luggage, making it not just connected, but seamlessly integrated into the way people travel,” says July co-founder Athan Didaskalou. “No extra tags, no extra steps – just tracking built directly into the lock, working with the devices people already use. It’s a game-changer for travelers, and we can’t wait to see how it transforms their journeys.”
