A multi-storey building under construction has collapsed in Nairobi, with at least four people feared to be trapped beneath the rubble. While the cause is yet to be confirmed, building collapses are common in Nairobi, where poor construction standards and weak regulation have long been blamed. A report by the National Construction Authority found that 58% of buildings in Nairobi are unfit for habitation.  Rescue teams are on site as families plead for efforts to reach survivors to be sped up.
