Lord of the Rings star Liv Tyler braves the wild weather to enjoy break in Scotland

She is one of Hollywood’s most famous stars known for playing major roles in blockbuster movies such as Armageddon and Lord of the Rings.
But Liv Tyler hailed her travels around Scotland in 2025 as her ‘favourite adventure’ as she shared a series of images from her trip north of the Border in a new year post with her 2.5million Instagram followers.
The 48-year-old American actress, best known for playing elf Arwen in the Lord of the Ring trilogy, posted a collection of photographs at various places around the country from Edinburgh to Balmoral.
In one image she can even be seen enjoying a chilly dip in a river with her son Milo, 21.

The daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler also stopped off at the Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, where she posed for a photograph next to Indian artist Subodh Gupta’s giant steel artwork of pot and pans entitled When Soak Becomes Spill
The venue, just a short drive from the Royal family’s Balmoral retreat, is a popular haunt with celebrities, with actress Dame Judy Dench and singer Rita Ora among regular VIPs.
Ms Tyler posted the series of images, which also included picturesque views of the Scottish countryside, to the soundtrack of Paul McCartney and Wings song Let Me Roll It.
Fans described her post as ‘beautiful’, with one saying: ‘Thanks for blessing us with your beautiful pics. The views are stunning and you look gorgeous as always.’
Many others simply wished the star a ‘Happy New Year’, with one adding: ‘Lang may yer lum reek, Liv.’
