A married music teacher on maternity leave has been charged with 'penetrating' a teenage schoolboy during 'persistent' sexual abuse.
Naomi Tekea Craig, 33, was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly engaging in the 'persistent sexual conduct' with a teenage boy in Mandurah, a coastal city 70km south of Perth, between 2024 and 2025.
She has been charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16, possessing child exploitation material, and persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16.
At the time, Ms Craig was employed at Frederick Irwin Anglican School, a private co-educational Anglican school in Meadow Springs, with students from kindergarten to Year 12.
Principal Tracey Gray issued a letter to parents and carers on Tuesday confirming the alleged victim is not a student at the school.
'I regret to inform you that a teacher from our school has been arrested by police and charged with child-related offences,' Ms Gray wrote.
'The teacher has been instructed not to attend the school.
'The information available to the school suggests that there is no need for any concern for any children at the school.'

The Daily Mail can reveal Ms Craig is a married mother who also goes by Ms Woods, her marital surname.
The Daily Mail understands she had recently gone on maternity leave as she is pregnant with her second child, which is due later this month.
Ms Craig grew up in Mandurah and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Western Australia and a Diploma of Education from Edith Cowan University.
She later relocated to Melbourne, where she married her longtime partner in a lavish ceremony at Stones of the Yarra Valley on October 8, 2019 - having made a quick weekend getaway to Perth with friends three months earlier for her hens party.
A video posted online shows Ms Craig being walked down the aisle to meet her groom at the altar, before the newlyweds spent the night celebrating with family and friends.
Three years later, while still based in Victoria, the couple welcomed their first child, a little boy.
Maternity shoot photos show Ms Craig posing with her baby bump in March 2022 as she stood on a Mornington Peninsula beach dressed in white lingerie, brown broad-brimmed hat, and draped with a lace gown.
The then mum-to-be could be seen closing her eyes as she used her hands to cup her belly and chest before plunging down into the water.
