'Only the lie remains': 60% of voters in this Bedouin village voted for Netanyahu. Now, they're the targets of Ben-Gvir's police
Nearly 60 percent of Tarabin's residents voted for Likud in the last election. Four years after Netanyahu sat here and had coffee with locals, his coalition returned with tear gas and concrete barriers in a massive police crackdown. 'He drank coffee as a friend, now he sends us Ben-Gvir,' a resident told Haaretz

The entrance to Tarabin looked like a battlefield on Tuesday. The road was strewn with stones, a stench of smoke and tear gas filled the air and concrete blocks used as barriers, along with helmeted Border Police greeted anyone who entered the small Negev Bedouin community near Rahat. Earlier, forces arrested some children who threw stones at them.
Though the police are in the area as part of an operation that began over the weekend, it was clear that most of them had come for one specific person: Itamar Ben-Gvir.
