Pensioner, 80, is killed on late-night walk as motorist is arrested for driving without a licence or insurance

A pensioner has been killed whilst on a late-night walk, as a motorist is arrested for driving without and licence or insurance.
Police and paramedics were called to reports of a collision involving two cars and an 80-year-old man on the A4142 in Oxford at 2am on Sunday.
The man was sadly declared dead at the scene.
A 28-year-old man from Dunstable in Bedfordshire has been arrested on suspicion of causing death whilst driving an unlicenced and uninsured vehicle and remains in police custody.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: 'The collision occurred on the A4142 Eastern Bypass Road, between Risinghurst and Horspath Driftway.
'Two vehicles, a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai Ioniq and a pedestrian, were involved in the collision.
'Sadly, the pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, died of his injuries.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Oliver Cahill-Smith said: 'My thoughts are with the family and friends of the pedestrian who died in this collision.
'I am appealing to anyone who saw the collision or has footage from the area to contact police as soon as possible.
'You can contact the force via a police station, leaving information via our website or by calling 101. '
A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the elderly man's body by a pathologist to ascertain the exact cause of his death and an inquest will eventually be opened and adjourned by the Oxfordshire coroner.
