People fight, flee scene after Melbourne freeway crash, police say
Police are investigating an altercation potentially involving edged weapons after a collision on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne's south-east.
Three people involved in a car crash in Melbourne's south-east on Saturday began fighting before fleeing the scene, according to police.
The crash occurred on the Monash Freeway near Ernst Wanke Road in Narre Warren just before 2.30pm on Saturday, police said.
Police said it was believed the occupants of the two cars left the vehicles following the crash and "began fighting with each other", with some believed to have been armed with edged weapons.
Police could be seen searching the area nearby the scene of the crash. (ABC News)
Three occupants of one of the cars fled the area, police said. The driver, and only occupant of the other vehicle, remained at the scene and spoke to police.
Police said there had been no reports of injuries
