A brave teen has recalled the terrifying moment he was attacked by a dog on a wild late-night rampage.
Kaiden O'Dell, 14, was one of three people set upon by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-Mastiff cross in a quiet cul-de-sac at Raymond Terrace in the NSW Hunter Valley on Monday night.
The other two victims - a man and woman aged in their 30s - remain in Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital.
The couple were on a late-night walk when they were attacked on Josh Humphries' front lawn.
Mr Humphries grabbed a metal pole and rushed to help.
The dog then burst into the home and sank it's teeth into Kaiden's arm as he tried to defend his mum with a broom.
'It just chased me up the stairs… just ran up and ran inside and bit me,' the teen told NBN News.
'I grabbed its fur, tried pulling it away and Mum dragged me off. It bit me on the leg too. It left six or seven bite marks.'

Shocked neighbours captured the moment police shot the dog dead after it attacked three people including a 14-year-old boy
Police shot dead the dog when they arrived at the scene a short time later.
Kaiden's mum Jess is relieved that no one was killed.
'I actually at one point thought that maybe it could have been a lot more serious than that,' Ms O'Dell said.
The next morning, debris was strewn across their front yard, with a trail of blood on the driveway and claw marks on the bonnet of a car.
There were reports the dog belonged to the injured couple in their 30s, which are yet to be confirmed by authorities.
Other residents recalled the terrifying minutes after the pair were attacked.
'They were bleeding out, in and out of consciousness,' Georgina Croese said.
'The woman said that she couldn't feel her arm. I've never seen anything like it, honestly. It was one of the worst things I've ever seen.
