Ruth Jones 'takes her £1M former marital home off the market' after slashing asking price by £50K following her split from husband David Peet
The Gavin and Stacey star, 59, who wrote some of the BBCsitcom in the plush six-bedroom house, first put it up for sale in September 2025 following her split from husband David Peet, 72.
Ruth Jones has appeared to take her former martial home in Cardiff off the market, months after slashing the asking price by £50K.
The Gavin And Stacey star, 59, who wrote some of the BBC sitcom in the plush six-bedroom house, first put it up for sale in September 2025 for £1,150,000 following her split from husband David Peet, 72.
The mock Tudor house overlooking leafy Roath Park, just 10 miles from Barry Island, was then reduced to £1,099,950 in October.
However it now appears to have been taken off the estate agent's website after failing to sell.
The furniture has been cleared out and what was once a cosy home, which the former couple purchased for £325K in 2001, is now an empty shell.
A neighbour said: 'It is clear they just want to sell it and move on with their lives. It is a lovely house but that was always a very full price to be honest.
'It is not nice to see it empty so we wish them all the best. Everyone around here knows Ruth and we miss seeing her walk around the park.'

Neighbours said fellow star James Corden was a regular visitor as the pair - then relatively unknown - struck gold by writing the beloved comedy series after they first began writing the show in her Cardiff home.
One said: 'James was often here even though many people didn't know who he was. Ruth absolutely loved that house and it will be difficult to leave - although she clearly wants a new start.
'She and James would wander just down the road to the Jubarah restaurant for a curry - and even based some of their scenes on their experiences around here.
'Ruth was a lovely neighbour no matter how famous she became. She always asked about the children. David, however, was very much more stand-offish.'
Estate agent Kelvin Francis described it as a 'handsome, three-storey bay-fronted Edwardian style residence, retaining charm and character, sympathetically extended, choice position overlooking Roath Park recreation fields.'
Since their split Ruth is said to living in a flat near Hyde Park, London, while David has moved to Vancouver, Canada, to be with his new partner Jayne Charity Cook, 46.
The former couple announced in June that their 26-year marriage was over, claiming they split 18 months ago and are now 'legally separated'.
