Immediately after Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich addressed a caucus of Religious Zionism lawmakers this week, his band of interpreters was summoned to explain what exactly he meant. According to them, Smotrich didn't really mean to "run over" Supreme Court President Isaac Amit. Although, according to the minister, Amit is a "violent and ruthless" person who is stealing Israeli democracy and "the result will be that we'll run him over" – the hypocritical and self-righteous interpreters explained that this wasn't physical, real or practical imagery, it was allegorical.
