Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered opening the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt in both directions as a goodwill gesture during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, but abandoned the plan after opposition from National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a source said.
