Teyana Taylor Reveals She Received Extension on Culinary School Assignment Ahead of Golden Globe Win
“I'm a straight-A student, and I want to keep it that way,” the Golden Globe winner said.
Teyana Taylor has more than one reason to celebrate following her Golden Globes win for best female supporting actor in a motion picture.
The One Battle After Another actress revealed on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday that she received an extension on her culinary school assignment amid a very busy award season.
“My deadline is on Tuesday,” the actress told E! News. “I gotta have my meals by Tuesday. I spoke to my chef yesterday, and he’s giving me an extension so I can turn my assignment in on Thursday. My school has been very, very supportive of me.”
Taylor, who is enrolled at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, explained that she typically completes her assignments early, but needed extra time this week due to her “crazy” schedule.
“I was like, ‘Chef, it ain’t happening,'” she said. “This is when a double life is kicking in. I’m like, ‘I’m gonna need ’til Thursday.’ I’m a straight-A student, and I want to keep it that way. I don’t want to make any excuses.”
Taylor shared the news just a few hours before she became a first-time Golden Globe winner for her performance as Perfidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. The All’s Fair actress’ schedule won’t be slowing down anytime soon with an Actor award nomination for best female actor in a supporting role and a Grammy nomination for best R&B album for her album, Escape Room.
Despite her hectic schedule, Taylor has no plans to take a semester off.
“I don’t want to do none of that,” the actress said. “Just give me an extra two days. I get home on Monday and I might still have it in by Tuesday. It’s like to have myself that time, so I’m not panicking. One thing about me is I am a student, baby.”
The actress explained that she was also a student on the set of One Battle After Another as she prepares to direct her first film. Taylor has been closely following Anderson, who and best screenplay.
