On January 19, 2025, tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square to watch the release of Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari after 471 days in Hamas captivity. They were the first group to be released during that three-month cease-fire.
