A veteran of just five starts, Bombay Boom took on city grade races at his first three and was unplaced in each.
The three-year-old son of Spirit Of Boom resumed from a spell at Albury last month and went straight to the front before going on to score an easy win as favourite. Nick Heywood was in the saddle in that event, and the jockey stuck with the galloper when it finished second at Canberra on December 12 behind Margin Call.
Pierre Boudvillain takes over the ride on Bombay Boom at Orange, and the jockey has also been booked to ride the Dale trained Group Chat in the Parkview Hotel Orange Country Boosted Class 1 Handicap (1280m).
Group Chat is also lightly raced with three starts. The five-year-old mare by Rubick and out of Stacey Lee is a half sister to the recently retired Front Page, which won more than $3.6 million in his career that netted two wins and a placing in The Kosciuszko and two placings in the Group 1 The Galaxy.
Group Chat debuted with a fifth at Albury in March before quickly breaking through with a maiden win at Wagga. She was spelled after a fifth at Wagga on May 1.
Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker has two runners set to contest events at Orange, with first starter Lego Master engaged to start in the Inland Digital Maiden Plate (1400m) with Mathew Cahill to ride.
Baker’s other runner is Cuesta in the Buckley’s Carpet Court Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1600m) for jockey Winona Costin.
