CHENNAI: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay briefly tripped and fell at Chennai airport on Sunday night while attempting to get into his car, after returning from Malaysia. Vijay had just exited the terminal when a large crowd gathered around him. As he moved towards his vehicle, the crowd surged, causing him to lose balance and fall moments before entering the car. Security personnel immediately rushed to his aid, helped him up and escorted him safely into the vehicle. He was then driven away from the airport.
The actor-politician had returned from Malaysia after attending the audio launch of Jananayagan, which is being described as his final film before focusing fully on politics. Television visuals aired later showed what appeared to be a minor mishap involving a car believed to be part of Vijay’s convoy within the airport premises. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Airport and police officials did not issue any official comment on the incident.
