Wrexham’s Hollywood owners are celebrating a famous FA Cup triumph after beating Premier League opposition for the first time in 26 years.
Nottingham Forest, competing in this season’s Europa League after finishing seventh in England’s top division in 2024-25, were the unfortunate fall guys as a thrilling tie was settled in Wrexham’s favour by a penalty shoot-out.
After 120 minutes of captivating football had ended 3-3, Arthur Okonkwo saved the decisive spot-kick from Omari Hutchinson to send the home fans into dreamland and Wrexham into the fourth round.

The Deadpool star was seen high-fiving supporters as Wrexham claimed their first Premier League scalp since beating a Middlesbrough side featuring England star Paul Gascoigne in December 1999.
Wrexham boast a proud record in the FA Cup, the world’s oldest knockout competition. Arsenal are among the big clubs who have been knocked out by Wrexham over the years and Forest can now be added to that impressive list after a dramatic night.
Wrexham led 2-0 at the interval through goals by Liberato Cacace and Oliver Rathbone, but Forest’s Igor Jesus made it 2-1. Wrexham restored their advantage through Dominic Hyam with 15 minutes of regular time remaining but substitute Callum Hudson-Odoi scored twice to take the game to extra time and penalties.
All eyes will now be on Monday’s draw for the fourth round, when Wrexham will hope to be paired with one of the game’s true giants in Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool or Manchester United.
